Joar Nango (b.1979) is son to Nils John Nango from Máze. Joar has training in architecture at NTNU, Trondheim. Joar works with place-specific installations and self-made publications which explore the boundary between architecture, design and visual art. Thematically speaking, his works relate to questions of indentity, often through investigating the oppositions and contradictions in contemporary architecture. Recently, he has worked on the theme ”The moderen Sami Space” through, amongst other things, the self-published fanzine Sámi Huksendáidda: the Fanzine and design project Sámi Shelters. Joar has exhibited his works in many places internationally, including Germany, Canada and Russia. At the moment, he lives and works in Oslo.
